A couple months ago my husband and I shared a day of self-care at Replenish Spa. It is one of those places that when you enter you can immediately feel the energy of healing and connection, which I believe is a true reflection of the mission of its creation. Replenish The Spa Co-op is a local, family owned yoga spa. They are co-owned and created by two sisters and mom, inspired by love and passionate about giving. If you are looking for a place and community that feels like home, I couldn’t recommend them more!
I recently discovered that the word "father" is both a noun and a verb; thus being a verb, it requires action. This definition I believe is a true reflection of what it means to have and be a father. A father's love must be present, in the moments that matter for their children.

I met Brandy Wells while attending a workshop last year centered around sisterhood. During some point of the event, she indicated that she was a licensed social worker and how that training and experience had impacted that way in which she parents. Mental health is a piece of pregnancy and parenthood that should be put on the forefront of needs to be addressed throughout the journey. I asked Brandy to share her insight on the importance of positive and strong mental health and how it can be beneficial to the whole family.
In her acceptance speech for Lemonade Beyonce stated; “It’s important to me to show images to my children that reflect their beauty, so they can grow up in a world where they look in the mirror, first through their own families- as well as the news, the Super Bowl, the Olympics, the White House and the Grammys- and see themselves, and have no doubt that they’re beautiful, intelligent and capable.”
This week , I have Dr. Shauna Hindman answering questions about acupuncture during the perinatal period. She is a Chiropractic Physician and Acupuncture Diplomate. Shauna holds degrees from Ohio University, National University of Health Sciences, The International Academy of Medical Acupuncture and recently received her Diplomate in Integrative Medicine. She has been in practice since 1998.
Recently, in a shared space of sisterhood, I was asked to reflect on my definition of beauty. As the women before me delivered their responses, I immediately thought of community and the power and beauty that is created when you are surrounded by individuals who are willing to help you grow and support your needs.
